How to overcome your fears?

We are afraid of many things, fear guides many of our actions and especially our non-acts. In this article, I will mainly tell you about the “false fears”, those that appear while your life is not in danger and give you keys to tame and overcome them.

How to define fear?

Fear is a wave of negative thought. These waves of low frequencies arrive by wave according to our education, the events that we live daily …

They will arrive by what is called collective consciousness. 
We are all connected to each other. 
All people on earth generate waves of fear (regardless of fear, fear of death, disease, failure, etc.) that will be part of collective consciousness and therefore affect all human beings.

Fear, like all the harmful feelings that can be felt, will, if it is felt repeatedly and over a long period of time,  create discomfort on the physical body.

In fact, these waves of fear, which are negative waves, will gradually pass through the different energetic bodies that compose and protect us.
If the created gaps are not repaired, once the wave has passed through all the bodies, it touches the physical body. It is from there that will be created physical inconveniences, diseases, accidents, forms of violence like disputes …

What scares you?

Real fear or fear poison?

There are two types of fears.

The “real” fears that I will not discuss in this article, just define them so that you understand the difference.

And the useless fears that I call fears “poisons”.

Real fears are helpful because they will protect you from a real danger that could reach your life.

Imagine yourself hiking in the high mountains. To get to the summit faster, you could take the path that goes off to the right. But this path scares you because it runs very close to the edge of a 100m high cliff.
So you decide to put more time to get to the top by taking the path on the left, less risky.
This fear is useful because it will have prevented you from taking a life risk.

The fears I call “poison fears” are not “true fears” because these fears are there for events that do not present a life-threatening danger.
These fears that you can feel in everyday life, are often overrated. We are rarely in a situation of death when we are afraid!

These fears are there for an infinity of events.

  • Fear of changing jobs, moving for example. Which implies the fear of not being pleased in the new situation, to be disappointed, unhappy , to regret this choice …
  • Fear of embarking on a new professional project alone. This will involve the fear of running out of money,  being judged by others, making mistakes, doing wrong …
  • Fear of losing a loved one, separation, missing an exam, not being loved
  • etc …

So why do we experience fear?

These fears are in no way connected to a danger of death. In reality, these fears are often fears of social death.  But the brain will still interpret these events as a danger of death (short).

Let’s take the example of professional change by starting out as an independent. The brain will interpret this change as a vital risk. He will send you the message that the unknown brings to the uncertainty that leads to a possible danger of death.

He will dramatize the situation and see the worst in it. You send the message that you risk losing money and then no longer have enough money to live, nor benefit from any help, which could lead to death. The brain will dramatize the situation so as not to suffer, to stay in comfort. That’s why in such situations, the thoughts you have, some of which are unconscious, bring a sense of fear.

In this same example, other fears may arise, which will be especially fears of social death. To be judged by others. To disappoint. Not to “be up to the task” (at what level? Of whom? Everyone is unique!). To be rejected …

What is it really?

In fact, by making a decision to go to the unknown, you are extremely far from this physical danger.

And the worst part, if you listen to your mind, is that you do not do what you really want! To listen to one’s mind is not to follow one’s heart.  Your heart knows what is good for you, even if it means taking some risks. They can be so beneficial!

By listening to your mind telling you not to do this project that makes you so vibrate, you lie to yourself. You do not listen to yourself and will surely miss out on a rich experience for your personal evolution.

How to overcome your fears?

The first thing will be to realize that you are afraid of the situation.

  • Welcome this feeling, do not try to repress it, it will not lead to anything good.
  • Then try to take a step back from this feeling:

How do you feel physically? Your heart racing? Your muscles stiffen? Are you shaking?

  • Accept the reactions of your body and say well that it is your mind that reacts, not your heart (attention, in a situation that does not involve real danger, in a situation you want to go! ). These are the thoughts you have about the situation, which engender this fear.
  • Identify the thoughts that cause your fear.  Is it the risk of running out of money? Not to integrate into society? To deceive you? To be judged? To be disappointed?
  • Once you have done this work and you have identified your thoughts,  you can choose what thoughts to adopt instead, to move forward.

Fear will not necessarily go away, but you will have accepted it, understood it, identified it. So you can choose to move with it (and it will surely fade gradually because it will not have any reason to be). 
This is called courage.


If you listen to your fear, the risk is that you will not move forward in your life. You will not go and will not advance in the way that you really like. Because fear triggers 3 possible reactions: paralysis, flight or counter-attack. In all 3 cases, it makes you go back and not advance. This fear prevents you from evaluating the real risks and following your heart. It is, of course, important to weigh the pros and cons in a situation, to assess the risks but only your heart guides you to what you really want, without a filter.
